General Steel Security Door Set Specification:
- Door Leaf: Manufactured from 1.5 mm. galvanised steel sheet, folded and welded to shape, with galvanised steel bracing for strength and for hardware support.
- Frame: Manufactured from 2 mm. galvanised steel, cold rolled to rebated profile – mitered and internally welded corners and complete with heavy duty fixing plates and flat or rebated threshold to client choice.
- Door Furniture: Zinc plated continuous hinge incorporating 2 no. steel security pegs – all other hardware to client or door usage specification, but normally including panic/ emergency exit hardware, mortice locks with lever handles, or BGID’s own unique heavy-duty lock bars, and full Health & Safety or Emergency door signage.
- Finish: Galvanised steel and primed for on-site painting, or fully factory powder coat paint finished to RAL standard colour.
Fire Checker Fire Resisting Door and Frame Sets

All BGID Fire Checker door and frame sets are custom-made to suit individual site opening dimensions. Doors incorporate a high security continuous full height hinge with 2 no. security pegs.
BGID Fire Checker door and frame sets have been tested for 4 hour fire resistance in accordance with BS476 Part 22: 1987
General Fire Checker Specification:
- Door Leaf: Manufactured from 1.5 mm. galvanised steel sheet, folded and welded to shape, with galvanised steel bracing for strength and for hardware support.
- Frame: Manufactured from 2 mm. galvanised steel, cold rolled to rebated profile – mitered and internally welded corners and complete with heavy duty fixing plates and flat or rebated threshold to client choice.
- Door Furniture: Zinc plated continuous hinge incorporating 2 no. steel security pegs – all other hardware to a client or door usage specification – but please note that a door with a 2-hour rating requires a suitable door closer and in addition, for a 4-hour rated door, all hardware, particularly locks, must be manufactured from steel.
- Finish: Galvanised steel and primed, for on-site painting, or fully factory powder coat paint finished to RAL standard colours.
