Industrial Doors & Roller Shutters Ranges

Steel Security Door & Frame Sets

A double skinned all galvanised steel construction security door and unique cold rolled rebated section steel frame. All BGID steel security door sets are custom made to suit individual site opening dimensions. Doors incorporate a high security continuous full height hinge with security pegs.

 

An extensive range of vision and ventilation options, along with alternative hardware to suit the doors individual application and usage.

 

General Steel Security Door Set Specification:

  • Door Leaf: Manufactured from 1.5 mm. galvanised steel sheet, folded and welded to shape, with galvanised steel bracing for strength and for  hardware support.
  • Frame: Manufactured from 2 mm. galvanised steel, cold rolled to rebated profile – mitred and internally welded corners and complete with heavy duty fixing plates and flat or rebated threshold to client choice.
  • Door Furniture: Zinc plated continuous hinge incorporating 2 no. steel security pegs – all other hardware to client  or door usage specification, but normally including panic/ emergency exit hardware, mortice locks with lever handles, or BGID’s  own unique heavy duty lock bars, and full Health & Safety or Emergency door signage.
  • Finish: Galvanised steel and primed for on site painting, or fully factory powder coat paint finished to RAL standard colour.
Steel Security Doors

Fire Checker – fire resisting door and frame sets

A double skinned all galvanised steel construction door and BGID’s own unique cold rolled rebated section steel frame. All BGID  Fire Checker door and frame sets are custom made to suit individual site opening dimensions. Doors incorporate a high security continuous full height hinge with 2 no. security pegs.

 

BGID Fire Checker door and frame sets, have been tested to 4 hour fire resistance in accordance with BS476 Part 22: 1987

 

General Fire Checker Specification:

  • Door Leaf: Manufactured from 1.5 mm. galvanised steel sheet, folded and welded to shape, with galvanised steel bracing for strength and for hardware support.
  • Frame: Manufactured from 2 mm. galvanised steel, cold rolled to rebated profile – mitred and internally welded corners and complete with heavy duty fixing plates and flat or rebated threshold to client choice.
  • Door Furniture: Zinc plated continuous hinge incorporating 2 no. steel security pegs – all other hardware to client or door usage specification – but please note that a door with a 2 hour rating requires a suitable door closer and in addition, for a 4 hour rated door, all hardware, particularly locks, must be manufactured from steel.
  • Finish: Galvanised steel and primed, for on site painting, or fully factory powder coat paint finished to RAL standard colours.
Industrial Folding Shutters

A fully all galvanised steel construction folding shutter door, designed, manufactured and installed to suit specific site dimensions and requirements. Minimal headroom requirements allow this type of door to be used when headroom limitations preclude the use of a traditional roller shutter door.

Folding Shutter Specification:

Door Leaf: Cold rolled from 0.9 mm galvanised steel – vertically ribbed for strength.

Picket, Hinge, Slide Section & Lattice Bar: All manufactured from cold rolled galvanised steel – thickness varying from 1.2 mm to 2 mm as required.

Top & Bottom Track: Manufactured from 2mm and 3mm cold rolled galvanised steel – the top track supplied with supporting brackets to suit site conditions.

Trolley Assembly: All steel zinc plated construction with pre-lubricated ball race assemblies attached to top of picker assembly.

Bottom Guide: Manufactured from zinc plated steel – fixed to base of picket section and acts as a support for each pair of leaves.

Operation: Usually manual, with suitable locking arrangements, but for larger and therefore heavier doors, powered operation, with single or 3 phase motors couples with a variety of control systems are available.

Industrial Sectional Doors

A fully insulated panel assembly, with a door action that allows the panels to make close contact with neoprene vertical side seals, along with a neoprene horizontal seal at the head, and a neoprene nosing to the bottom of the door, all combine to ensure that our range of Sectional Doors provide the best possible seal when in the closed position.

 

All Insulated Sectional doors are designed, manufactured and installed to suit site specific dimensions and details.

 

General Spartan range of Hormann and Indupart, Insulated Sectional Door Specification:  

  • Panel Section: Constructed from double skinned 0.5 mm thick galvanised steel sheet panels, with integral self  extinguishing polyurethane core, providing a high level of insulation – a U value of 0.47W/m2k.
  • Top, Bottom & Side Seals: Purpose designed neoprene seals fitted around the door aperture to form weathertight joints when the door is fully closed
  • Tracks: Galvanised steel vertical and horizontal tracks, connected by a 90 degree curve allow the door to have a smooth and easily controlled action.
  • Operation: Either manually with endless hand chain controlling counter balanced springs, or by single or three phase electric motor incorporating fail safe safety brake, with anti drop mechanism – all controls are low voltage.
  • FinishPanels are available with HP2000 plastisol to outer skin, in a selection of colours, or fully factory powder coat paint finished to RAL standard colours.
Bar Grilles & Servery

Bar Grilles and Servery Shutters are designed to be aesthetically pleasing, whilst at the same time offering an acceptable level of security as they form a highly visible barrier.

 

  • Curtain: Injection moulded links to create a cruciform pattern of 71 mm x 76 mm. centres, with white injection moulded nylon lath retainers fixed to alternate laths covering the full shutter curtain height.
  • Or – constructed from 10 mm. x 78 mm. aluminium tubes and 12 mm. x 60 mm. links to form a 160 mm. x 50 mm. brick bond pattern.
  • Alternatively – constructed from 13 mm. x 110 mm. aluminium tubes and 16 mm. x 75 mm. links to form a 228 mm. x 65 mm. brick bond pattern.
  • Operation: Manually, by counter balanced spring loaded barrel – push up, pull down action.  Electrically, by single phase tubular motor unit, complete with fail safe safety brake and anti-drop mechanism, hand crank manual over-ride for use in the event of a power failure, and with a variety of low voltage control systems.
  • Finish: Injection moulded links are generally white, whilst aluminium tube and link grilles can be left mill finish or supplied fully factory powder coat paint finished to RAL standard colour
Punched & Glazed Roller Shutter

An aluminium lath, punched and glazed, roller shutter door, allowing greater freedom for flexibility of shop front design and layout, by increasing or reducing the level of glazing in the shutter curtain area. Considered to be of more attractive appearance than the galvanised steel lath of other types of shop front shutter.

 

  • Curtain: 90 mm. deep high quality extruded aluminium bottom rail 82 mm. deep x 60 mm. wide complete with neoprene weather strip.
  • Punching: Can be solid, but more usually, punched as follows – in-line & brickbond – 152 mm. wide x 59 mm. high double in-line  –  330 mm. wide x 59 mm. high
  • Glazing:  Achieved by using 2 mm. thick polycarbonate
  • Guide Channels: 65 mm. deep x 45 mm. wide aluminium complete with 3 no. hard wearing glide strips to each side.
  • Canopy / Fascia: Manufactured from 0.9 mm. (20g) galvanised sheet steel folded and formed to enclose head plates and barrel assembly.
  • Operation: Manually through counter balanced spring barrel operated by gear cranked mechanism, or electrically by single phase tubular mounted motor, complete with fail safe safety brake and anti drop mechanism, and with a variety of low voltage controls.
  • Finish: Either mill finish aluminium, anodised finish or more popularly, fully factory powder coat paint finished to RAL standard colour

PVC Strip Curtain

An economical system for controlling draughts and heat loss in an industrial workshop / factory environment. Curtain is usually of clear material, allowing easy vision from one side to the other. Very easy access through this type of curtain for vehicles, fork lift trucks and pedestrians.

 

  • Curtain:  Standard curtains are manufactured from transparent/clear PVC strips 200 mm. x 2 mm. / 300 mm. x 3 mm. or 400 mm. x 4 mm. Red warning and marker strips and Green strips for ultra violet and infra-red reduction, are also available in the same sizes.
  • Hanging System: Rigid 1 mm. stainless steel track, with universal horizontal or vertical fixing locations.  Can also be attached to sliding door gear track system, allowing the whole curtain to moved aside during periods of intense activity
Gates & Fencing Systems

BGID have teamed up with CAME – probably the largest manufacturer of automatic gate operating systems in Europe – to provide a top quality fencing and gate operation system capable of providing strong, secure, but stylish steel fencing, with motorisation of the gates by a variety of power systems each complete with “state of the art” control equipment. CAME equipment conforms to all current Technical and Legislative Regulations.

 

  • Fencing: Manufactured from galvanised steel, generally in palisade style, but can be to client specification.
  • Gates: Manufactured from rectangular steel box section frame and uprights, either to match the palisade fencing style, or box section uprights and clad with galvanised mesh panels, or vertical box section infill, or manufactured from wrought iron, and to suit individual client specification.  Manufactured to be hinged / pivoting or sliding.
  • Finish: Can be left in standard primer finish or galvanised steel finish, but more usually fully factory powder coat paint finished to RAL standard colour.
  • Gate Motors: Kits are available for Swing Gates or for Sliding Gates.  Swing gates can be fitted with ATI Worm Drive Gate Operators – FERNI Articulated Arm Gate Operators or FROG Underground Gate Operators, whilst for  sliding gates, types Bx, Bx-243, Bk and By-3500T are available and suit a variety of gates types, sizes and weights

Protector Continental Shutters

Continental Shutter is the generic term used to describe a compact, light duty roller shutter  –  BGID’s Range are unobtrusive roller shutter systems, providing an increased level of security and deterrence – whilst remaining aesthetically pleasing. Equally at home protecting domestic window and door openings, or the same type of window and door on commercial premises. Both spring balanced, manual operation and electric operation are available.

Fast Action Door

Manufactured by BGID, our Fast Action Door offers high speed and rapid opening and closing movements based on a state of the art design principles. The doors fully adjustable fast action significantly improves heat / cold temperature control, minimising the length of time the opening is exposed. Environmental considerations, such as draught, dust and noise are also much better controlled.

 


Specification for BGID  Fast Action Doors:

  • Dimensions: all Fast Action doors are made to measure – to accommodate a wide range of sizes and options.
  • Door Panel:  The curtain is manufactured from panama weave PVC coated polyester, and is available in 5 standard colours – red, blue, orange, yellow and grey. A full width clear PVC window is set into the door curtain, and is 670 mm deep and is positioned 1200 mm. above the bottom of the door. Vertical bands are built into the door to stabilise the PVC when the door curtain is under tension – the number of bands varying with the width of the door
  • Frame Legs: manufactured from galvanised steel sheet, folded to shape, providing an effective guide system for the curtains movement. Constructed to space efficient dimensions to minimise intrusion and along with the protective hood are normally supplied in galvanised finish, but can be powder coat paint finished to RAL / BS standard colours.
  • Motor:  The drive unit is a single speed inverter compatible brake motor, with direct drive onto the counter balance assisted drum shaft complete with manual wind open facility.
  • Controls: Supplied as standard with 2 no. open and close push buttons and emergency stop, factory wired to the door of the control cabinet, and with variable timer control for automatic closing. The standard control cabinet meets the requirements of the Machinery Directive 98/37 EC.
  • Safety Features: The unit is supplied with optical failsafe safety reverse leading edge and safety “hold open” optical beam normally set 300 mm. above floor level to prevent door downward travel. The safe edge is designed with a breakaway system for easy repair.
  • Power Supply:  It is imperative that the motor is operated on a filtered clean 240v ac electrical supply, rated 16 amp and preferably designated single phase
