Manually Operated
Push up & Push Down Shutter
A high-security steel roller shutter door, ideally suited to cover doorways and windows. All BGID Push Up-Pull Down roller shutter doors are manufactured to individual site dimensions.
General Specification:
- Lath – 0.9 mm. galvanised steel cold rolled to 75 mm. curved face profile or 0.7 mm. galvanised steel cold rolled to 54 mm. flat face.
- Bottom Rail – 1.6 mm. galvanised steel cold rolled to form a rigid “T” section.
- Guide Section – 3 mm. galvanised steel cold rolled to form a channel section.
- End locks (Lath Retainers) manufactured from hard wearing polyurethane material and fixed to alternate laths.
- Canopies and Fascia – supplied to cover the shutter coil, manufactured from 0.9 mm. galvanised steel sheet folded to shape.
- Operation – by counter balanced spring loaded barrel push up / pull down action. Electrically by single phase tubular motor, with fail-safe safety brake and anti-drop mechanism, hand crank manual over-ride for use in the event of a power failure, and with a variety of low voltage control systems.
- Locking – options include – guide locks/lath locks/ground stay locks / central locking with locking bars.
- Finish – either galvanised steel or powder coat paint finished to client's choice of RAL or BS standard colour.
Industrial Roller Shutters
A traditionally designed and manufactured roller shutter door provides a reliable and easily maintainable system for industrial door applications.
General specification:
- Lath – 0.9 mm. galvanised steel cold rolled to 75 mm. curved face profile (other profiles – flat face / insulated lath available)
- Bottom Rail – 1.6 mm. galvanised steel cold rolled to form a rigid “T” section.
- Guide Section – 3 mm. galvanised steel cold rolled to form a channel section for wider openings or doors in an exposed location use captive guide and end locks to match.
- End Locks (Lath Retainers) are manufactured from galvanised malleable steel and fixed to alternate laths.
- Canopies and Fascia – supplied to cover the shutter coil, manufactured from 0.9 mm. galvanised steel sheet, folded to shape
- Operation – using a counter balanced spring barrel assembly, with endless hand chain mechanism and single or double reduction gearing as appropriate. Alternatively by electric operation using either single or 3-phase motor units, fail-safe devices, safety edges with options for remote control or low voltage controls.
- Locking – for manual operation options include – guide locks/lath locks/ground stay locks / central locking with locking bars. For electric operation by use of the motor assembly itself.
- Finish – either galvanised steel or powder coat paint finished to client's choice of RAL or BS standard colour.
Industrial Insulated Lath Roller Shutters
A modern design for the traditional roller shutter door provides a thermally efficient, energy-saving door.
General specification:
- Lath – 0.9 mm x 100 mm. flat galvanised steel
- Inner Skin – 0.9 mm, x 100 mm. flat galvanised steel
- Insulation – 20 mm. CFC free material giving a u value of 0.733W/m2K
- Bottom Rail – Black nylon U section complete with black rubber weather seal
- Guide Section – 90 mm. deep x 40 mm. wide x 3 mm. walled galvanised steel complete with double brush seals
- End Locks (Lath Retainers) – Hard-wearing black plastic, fixed to alternate laths covering the full height of the door
- Canopies & Fascia – supplied to cover the shutter coil, manufactured from 0.9 mm. galvanised steel sheet, folded to shape
- Operation – using a counter balanced spring barrel assembly, with endless hand chain mechanism and single or double reduction gearing as appropriate. Alternatively, electrically, using a springless barrel assembly with 3 phase hollow shaft motor complete with a safety brake and endless hand chain override in the event of power failure. Options for various control systems, including remote or wall-mounted starter with open, close and stop buttons.
- Locking – for manual operations options include – guide locks/lath locks/ground stay locks / into a chain keep. For electrically operated doors, by use of the motor assembly itself.
- Finish – either galvanised steel or powder coat paint finished to client choice of RAL or BS standard colour – alternatively Plastisol coated to our standard colour range
- Glazing: In-line or Brickbond pattern – consisting of 200 mm. wide x 40 mm. deep punched aperture and with a 60 mm. bridge between apertures to both outer and inner skins, complete with double glazed insert.
Fire Resistant Roller shutters
Fitted with Compact Tube Motor BGID’s Electrically Operated Fire Resisting Roller Shutter was subjected to test at the Exova Warrington Test Facility where its integrity was proven in accordance with BS EN 1634-1: 2008 – the door successfully retained its integrity for a period of time in excess of 2 hours.
General specification:
- Barrel: 1.5 mm. x 101 mm. diameter steel tube
- Lath: 0.9 mm. galvanised steel cold rolled to 75 mm. curved face profile
- Bottom Rail: 2 mm. galvanised steel cold rolled to form a rigid “T” section
- Guide Section: 3 mm. galvanised steel cold rolled to form a channel section 75mm x 32 mm
- End Locks: (Lath Retainers) : manufactured from pressed steel and fitted to alternate laths with 6 mm. steel rivets.
- Canopy: 1.2 mm. galvanised steel sheet folded to shape
- Motor: Tubular Motor type 11/10
- Safety Brake: Type TA 1/2
Fitted with externally mounted (outboard) heavy-duty motor – usually 3 phase – and tested to BS 476: Part 22
General Specification:
- Barrel: 3 mm. x 127 mm.
- Motor: Outboard
